KENDU launched on 21 Feb 2024. Holders paid for exchange listings with donations (MEXC was the first), started Kendu Energy and Kendu Coffee, and voted every day for nearly four months to earn a free CertiK audit. Wallets holding KENDU on Ethereum reached about 14,600 by the end of the year. In the second half, trust in the founder wore down: the dark ages.
On 18 Jan the founder stepped down and the community took KENDU over (a community takeover, or CTO): the X account and the treasury first, Telegram and the website in February, and his remaining 13.17B KENDU went into the community treasury. KENDU reached Solana and Base, the name became Kendu, a free brand guide opened it to anyone, and ventures followed: Kendu Spice, Brilliance, Unleashed and more.
Kendu Spice’s Moon Rock went on sale on Amazon, and from May its wallet bought KENDU about once a month. Kendu Racing ran its first races under the name, Kendu Brilliance burned 100M KENDU, holders crowdfunded a flag football sponsorship in Oklahoma City, Kendu Stylez opened its shop, and the community Space on X went weekly.
What the community earned or paid for as a group: with free votes, sign-ups, donations and showing up every day.
Since May 2025 holders have given each other the I KENDU It award for work done for Kendu. Past winners pick the next one, and the winner gets the IKIRA ッ tag beside their name in Telegram. 23 given, the latest on 7 May 2026.

Creative posts and pixel art since the early days.
Ok chat, listen: the 21st awardee is going out to a chad who supported me pretty early since I stepped into Kendu. He was one of the guys who was open to a good chat and for funny thoughts.
What we du at Kendu is pretty much what he offers for the community: creative initiatives, well-minded posts, and it looks like we have a good content creator as well. He is grinding hard and loves to connect to other people and to the crypto space in general. He always has an eye on things that ken be kendufied.
When it comes to what makes him unique, I would always say that he stepped into Kendu with ideas of making it grow and getting more eyes on our project. He showed his life in pixels several times, with his pixel art spread all over the world. He posts from his sport sessions like skiing, running or diving, he motivates people to DU something, and he is always up to hop into a post and smash it. He is one of the good guys.

The Kendu beer brewer, who also backs other holders' merch.
Hey everyone! It’s time to recognize another Kendu champion and their contributions to our community. This person has been with us for a while now, and during their time here they’ve contributed a lot to Kendu.
They’re not usually front and center in the Telegram; you could say they take a more humble approach to promoting Kendu, but their contributions are significant. If you look closely you can often find them spreading awareness of Kendu on Twitter and Instagram, pushing for votes on Capitoday, and reaching out to people outside our community. They also support the people in our community who have created Kendu merchandise: if you’ve added to the Kendu brand, there’s a good chance this person has promoted your product in some way.
Finally, another major contribution they’ve made to the Kendu ecosystem is Kendu beer! They put a lot of time into experimenting with and improving their recipe, and thanks to them we have a healthy supply of Kendu beer!

A member in the Netherlands who makes Kendu keyrings, slips Kendu cards into IKEA displays and brews a Kendu Tripel.
The next “I Kendu It” recognition award goes to a long-standing member who’s been crafting, brewing, and creating her way through the Kendu universe with pure You Ken-DU It energy!
[She] is our Netherlands flat-pack field unit (some assembly required): mask on, merch out, Kendu cards tucked into IKEA displays, because nothing says marketing like subliminal Swedish furniture placement.
She’s also the creator of some custom Kendu keyrings, which she’s sent to community members and even stashed in random places and geocaches for unsuspecting adventurers to find, turning Kendu into a real-world collectible for the lucky (or confused) few.
And let’s not forget: she’s a brewer too, crafting her very own Kendu Tripel 🍺. So it’s only poetic that she now becomes the third Dutchie to win an IKIRA. That’s right, a Tripel Dutchie! 🍻🇳🇱

Most days someone posts a list of X and Reddit posts for holders to like, answer and share. Numbered daily task lists ran in late 2024, and weekday Power Hours in the Telegram group have run since June 2024. The founder-era motto stuck: ‘We do not gamble, we work.’
Holders pay for KENDU’s visibility themselves: screens in Times Square and Las Vegas, 1,000 posters in Brooklyn, 10,000 holographic stickers mailed across the US, braille sticker sheets. The Street Team paints live KENDU murals at Miami Art Week, Miami Music Week and festivals in Florida and Tennessee.

Ventures under the KENDU name give back in public. On-chain, Kendu Spice’s wallet buys KENDU about once a month and Kendu Brilliance burned 100M; Kendu Energy pledged 30% of pack sales to buying KENDU, and Kendu Games pledged part of its profit.
The treasury wallet first received KENDU in June 2024 and became the donation wallet for exchange listing fees in July 2024. In January 2025 it received the founder’s remaining 13.17B KENDU; most of it has since been spent or moved. Spends announced since mid-2025 match the chain: the Base bridge, festival flyers, event sponsorships, the gold check on X. It held 2.77B KENDU on 14 Oct 2026.
